Its Harvest Time!

Things are happening on the farm! Our 2011 harvest is in full swing here at Eagle Point Winery and as you can tell from the pictures, the fruit has been good to us! We have an amazing crop including Frontenac, Frontenac Gris, Pinot Noir, Seyval and Vidal grapes. Our Gregoire G50 Harvestor made the collection of nearly 25 tonnes a bit faster than last years hand picking activities - check out the video! Approximately 10 more tonnes on the vine are ready for future harvest as well. The staff here are feverishly working to craft the best wines for 2012 and look forward to a bit of a slow down over the wintery season.

Grand Opening

After much work and investment, the Eagle Point Winery will have its grand opening on Sunday May 22nd, 2011 from 1pm to 5pm. Eagle Point Winery is the inspiration of Terry and Marsha Dixon who have created a beautiful 20-acre vineyard on their sprawling property in the Heart of the Thousand Islands. The winery is located on 337 Escott/Rockport Rd, in the township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands and features many different types of grapes and wine varieties as well as a beautiful wine processing facility and retail store.

Winery Manager, Tom Lawler is pleased with the addition of this showpiece to the local tourism and business community. “We are pleased to have been able to build a world-class winery here in the Thousand Islands which will become a must see tourist attraction for the region.”  The winery plans on hosting tours, wine tasting and educational events as well as local music showcases on the beautifully landscaped property. Eagle Point Winery invites you to attend their opening, take a tour, and sample the wines.
